Beyond the Mask: Reimagining Self Care

We’ve all seen the mainstream understandings of self-care: face masks, bubble baths, skincare routines. I enjoy these things too. But through a capitalist lens, they’ve almost redefined what it means to holistically care for ourselves. What if self care meant leaning into what our soul is hungry for; what truly nourishes our spirit and restores our sense of aliveness? Capitalism teaches us that more is the answer; more effort, more products, more striving. But how can that kind of foundation bring peace to a restless heart? Or protect us from the dynamics, cycles, and systems that drain us? To me, self care means tending to the soul and living from a place of worthiness. Soul-deep self-care begins with reconnection to our own uniqueness and wisdom. It’s the kind of care that asks us to strip off the mask and live with an open heart.

This is the heart of my work: helping people reconnect to themselves so they can feel spiritually nourished, grounded in their own truth, and alive to what matters most. What would life look like for you if you lived from that place?
